Bus Handler?
All new TCAT Bus Handlers undergo a comprehensive training program consisting of time spent in the classroom and on-the-road. Our program will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in your new role.
Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for fueling, cleaning and minor service work on all transit vehicles. Your duties will include: driving buses through bus washer, parking buses in the garage, operating a computerized fluid management system, assisting mechanics in locating and moving disabled vehicles, and cleaning the interior and exterior of transit vehicles. Your commitment to safety and attention to detail will be a key to success in this role. You can take great pride in knowing that your new role within TCAT will help to ensure the safety of our drivers, ridership and the general public.
Pay
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess professional detailing and cleaning experience. CDL-B with passenger and airbrake endorsements is a plus. A commitment to safety, strong communication skills, the ability to read and follow written instructions, the ability to work with a team and independently, and strong judgment skills are a must.
Number of Open Positions/Schedule/Hours
There are two part time open positions.
One position is scheduled to work Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 4:30pm to 3:00am.
One position is scheduled to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:30pm to 3:00am.
Scheduling for these positions is done by seniority.
Union Membership
TCAT, Inc. is a union shop. Bus Operators will become members of the UAW Local Union 2300 upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
Pre-employment Requirements
Post-offer motor vehicle record check, drug test, verification of past employment and criminal background check are required. Additionally, positions in this job classification are considered safety-sensitive and are subject to drug testing, including random drug screens, in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol regulations.
